Lineage 2 Client — how to choose and install
The client is the game itself. We break down which client you need in your case, how builds differ, and how to install them without errors.
Which client you need
- Official server — client only from the official NCSoft website, through the official launcher.
- Private server — that server's client (from the link on its website). Often it is a build for a specific chronicle (Interlude, High Five, etc.).
Why you shouldn't take "just any": the client version must exactly match the server, otherwise you won't connect. Also, third-party builds are a common source of viruses.
Installation without errors
- Extract to a folder without Cyrillic characters or spaces in the path.
- Run the launcher as administrator.
- Wait for the full check and file update to complete.
- Disable conflicting antivirus/firewalls only for the game folder (not for the system).
- After updating, launch the game through the launcher.
If the error persists: compare the client version with the one required on the server's website — often the problem is a version mismatch.
